The Sarah Pauli Series, Volume 17

Exciting, mysterious, and full of Viennese charm: A new case for journalist Sarah Pauli. A December evening in Vienna. The city sparkles with festive lights, snow covers streets and houses. Everything is quiet and peaceful. Until a sinister find is made at the Christmas market at Schönbrunn Palace: An employee of a small Christmas decoration stall is found dead in the snow, in front of her, an incense bowl with cold ash. Who wanted the woman not to experience Christmas Eve? Journalist Sarah Pauli, who is well-versed in superstitions and old rituals, begins to investigate. A trail leads her to the Waldviertel and an old murder case ...

Beate Maxian lives with her family near Attersee and in Vienna and is one of the most successful authors in Austria. Her Vienna crime novels featuring journalist Sarah Pauli regularly top the bestseller list there. Her crime novels featuring delicatessen dealer Lou Conrad also became bestsellers instantly.
